So when these players sign a contract to play overseas (ex: Deron Williams, possibly Durant), does it mean that they are in a contractual agreement for the whole year?

What I am trying to say is that, if there is a lockout when season starts and a few players decide to play overseas. If say in January both sides come to an agreement, and the NBA season begins. Can these players who are playing overseas just leave and come back to the NBA?

I'm pretty sure most would have an opt-out clause put into the contract.

Fiba ruled that any NBA player under contract can only sign a overseas contract if there is a opt out clause for when a new cba is reached.
