In the aftermath of this Rice for Ameuchi trade I have a league minimum question. Since Utah is under the league cap, that means there's a fine applied for not meeting the minimum either right? If so how much? Thanx.

Taking on Rice's contract, minus Amaechi's, is adding quite a bit of salary towards their cap. With Clark's contract, they should be close to $30 mil.

I am sure Gater and NIKE can confirm this.

A team must commit a minimum of 75% of the salary cap. 75% of a $42M cap is $31.5m. They nearly had it before Rice.

Prior to the trade?? The league doesn't impose fines while roster's are being reset for the summer. I believe the Jazz has until the start of the season to get to the minimum before fines are considered.
