I have to come up with at least one example of how Brown v. Board of Education could have been decided more narrowly than it was. The only idea that I have is that the court could have reaffirmed Plessy v. Ferguson and ruled that the black children's schools were unequal thus the individual students involved in the cases under Brown would be admitted to go to white schools (and the case would not call for the desegregation of all schools). Can anyone think of anything else? I figured this could be interesting to discuss and it could also help me in school :)

I guess they could have decided that the unequal could be dealt with by spending more money on black schools or less on white schools.
