Would any of you take an underaged kid to a comedy club? Are there any clubs in this area that allow underage people in the audience? My 15 yr old son is a big fan of stand up comedy, and wants to go to a comedy club. I'd like to buy him tickets, but my wife thinks it's a bad idea. What do you guys think?
they always have an age limit...how strictly they enforce is another matter. there's alot of lewd language as you're aware, but if you're comfortable about it's up to them i suppose.
Until he turns 21, probably best to make him wait. Besides, he can get tons of DVD's with stand-up on them.
The original plan was to buy tickets to see Jim Gaffigan when he comes to Houston in February, but it's billed as the "Beyond the Pale" tour. He has seen this act a dozen times on DVD, so I'd hate to take him to a show that he has heard all the jokes...thus, the comedy club idea. Does anyone know of any good stand up comedians coming to town?
there isn't going to be any age limit if he goes with you...at least none imposed by the city or state. In fact, he could even drink if you bought it for him, as far as TABC is concerned.
Well I checked the Mally Lewis and Lamb Chop website but it looks like they are not coming here. http://www.lambchop.tv/index.htm

He's still gonna do a bunch of stuff you've already heard, that's just the nature of the business. The other side of the coin is he will do new material, but the audience will want to hear the old stuff and heckle him for the old stuff till he either caves in or gets pissed off. This happened when I saw Mitch Hedberg (rest his soul) he was riffing on all this amazing new material and some jerk offs in the audience kept hollering for old jokes and he finally got pissed, cut his new act short and did his old stuff for about 5 minutes then walked off.
