I was at the TC open house and got a piece of paper instructing me to go to a certain section at a certain time and JVG would be there to sign autographs. He left early and the people who took our filled out forms told us that we would be receiving something in lieu of the JVG autograph. It has been a while now and I was wondering if that was actually going to happen or if the "something" I would get was the sales call.
Just wanted to give Tim a (semi) public shout-out. I am now filled with enough hetero man love for Tim to fill the Toyota Center. I got home today and found an autographed 8x10 Yao Ming glossy waiting for me after a hard day's work and an extra hour of outside work in Texas City (I REALLY hate Texas City unless it is in a catamaran off the dike). TIM FREAKING ROCKS OUT LOUD!!!
Hey Andy, you deserved it dude, die hard Rox fan like you.. Mr. Tim McDougall Are you gonna do another "red hair deal" like you did last year for us? Thank you.
Um... Tim? At Rick's Cabaret last summer, Steve Francis promised me a new Benz if I loaned him $20 until payday. Any chance I could collect on that?
Heh. If there's support for more of the "dye-your-hair-red" kind of stuff, I'd be happy to do more of it. No need to wait for the playoffs, either -- we're going to have plenty of games this year where tickets will be playoff-type scarce. So ... is there support? Would you come out and do that when we play, say, the Lakers or the Heat? Or the Mavs or Spurs? Tim
Hell freakin yeah I would. I wanted to do it last time but couldn't get off work in enough time to make it... but how about a little advanced notice Tim. I shave my head, but I would be more than happy to let it grow for a couple of days so that I can participate. Oh and to second my fellow posters sentiments you definitely are the man Tim. From your very first post, I have always been impressed with fact that you are interested in hearing what we die hard Rockets fans think, and actually turning some of those thoughts into action. That definitely shows commitment to your fans. Rock on Tim McD', Rock on...
Dude, I work at a community college and have a 7 month old, which means that I don't have $0.60 to buy a Coke from the vending machines at work. I will do whatever it takes...dye my hair, shave it off, paint myself red with the Rox logo on my chest and back, ANYTHING to get into the TC for games.
Heck yeah. I'd do it for a game against the Clippers. It was an awesome experience doing it this year. Only suggestion is to try to get some dye that will wash out quicker. Heck, I'd do it for a Clippers game.
I remember a game during Yao's rookie year my girlfriend and I both pained our faces to get a card that allowed us to go to a certain table after the game to get autographs. I think I got Boki and Moochie and she got Kenny Thomas. We would have liked to have gotten better players, but it was a fun experience overall. I think you should do more things like that. Pugs
Just want to add this: get into the TC "in the suit", take pictures with cheeleaders (in my lap) , free foods, drinks, hang out with Tony & Guy girls....you can't get any better than this.....I'll drive 2 hrs to this again... p.s. hey Andy, Does Jeff (your friend) have hair yet?
With enough advanced warning, I'd take a red-eye to Houston for a free seat and a Rocket red makeover...
