Disclaimer: I'm clueless and an idiot, so please bear with me. I've been looking at getting a T-Mobile flip phone, but, in shooping around, I've noticed that none of their phones, including their flip phones, have an extendable antenna. The antennas (antennae?) on all their phones are solid stubs. I've also noticed that almost every Sprint PCS phone, on the other hand, does have an extendable antenna. I've heard good things about T-Mobile, so the idea here is to get a T-Mobile phone with an extendable antenna, with the aim being to keep the signal as far away from your head as possible while using the phone. Yes, I know the whole cell phone radiation on your brain thing is a controversial issue, but I figure it's better to be safe than sorry if given a choice. So does anyone know why T-Mobile phones don't have extendable antennas? I remember reading somewhere that the length of an antenna is related to the frequency of the signal it is designed to receive (or something like that). Is this the reason? Sprint PCS operates on a frequency requiring a longer antenna, while T-Mobile operates on a different frequency requiring a shorter antenna? I've heard that there are aftermarket extendable antennas that you can buy to replace the stubby non-extandable antenna on a T-Mobile phone, but wouldn't that decrease performance, assuming that there is a relationship between antenna length and frequency? Please excuse my ignorance.
Why don't you get a hands free piece and place the radiation in your pocket. Maybe your penis will recieve phone radiation.
classic. i think the shorter antennae is just for fashion. small phones, small antennae. i haven't seen it any other way.
Get an LG from Verizon they are awsome and all those cool games like bowling, hoops, moterbikes, etc. and plus you could get tones from differnt companies. SWEET
I think this is one of the few gsm phones ever released with an extendable antenna. It's sort of old, doesn't have color and it's not a flip phone, but it's unique (hence the price) and looks gorgeous in person. You can get it on ebay
I got the Samsung S105 and love the hell out of it. I mostly use the handsfree so I dont really care about the short antenna. I have been using TMobile/Voicestream/Aerial for 3 years and dont have any complaints at all. IMO, Verizon and Tmobile give u more bang for you buck. The reason I choose Tmobile in the first place is because there are on the GSM network, which is widely used around the world. I can even text my relatives in the Philippines with ease.
I purchased a Motorola V60i a couple of months ago. I went in to a T-mobile location and asked which phone was the best. They gave me this load of garbage. Do these phone reps do this as a joke???/ As for the phone- the games suck, I can't ever hear the phone ring, and my ring tones tend to change whenever they feel like it. Given another choice, I would've gone with Sansung in a heartbeat. I can't think of another "premium" phone that's crappier than this one, which makes me 3 for 3 on buying the worst phone available.
The phones are being offered through Sprint. They are only available from the website and Best Buy The site is kinda of confusing. Click the mouse over the monitors of the right to get more details about the phone. Flash required. http://www.samsungtelecom.com/matrix/
Anyone have a Motorola T720? How do you like it? I'm on the verge of purchasing a new phone with my contract renewal...
Check out this phone: Camera, camcorder, mp3 player, etc, etc. How freakin cool is that. Its expected to come out in August. Then there is this cool phone for text messaging. I don't need one or even want one, but its freakin cool regardless:
The length of the atenna really doesn't matter. Its all about the interior design. V60i has one of the best receptions on the market, and for the most part, people love them. I've heard a good bit of complaints of the v60 not getting good reception, so im not sure if there are certain things that interfere with them or if they are bad batches (taking back 3-4 phones and still getting bad reception. My understanding about the T720 is the only good thing about that phone is the blue screen. Otherwise, the V60 kicks its ass. Keep in mind the V60 is for the travelers, not the people who use it for games. Your best bet is to find to find a buddy with the same service and check out his experince. BTW, T-mobile has the worst covege area i've seen. If you stay within the houston area, I guess it doesn't matter.
I had to switch to T-Mobile away from ATT because I moved to Spring and ATT would not get any signal. Haven't had any problems anywhere in Houston with my phones signal since moving to T-Mobile. Sony-Ericcson T68i.
I believe the antennaes are a placibos. People have associated antennaes with better reception so Sprint keeps them.
Back again... I'm a Verizon user, and the 3 phones that I have to choose from are... The Motorola T720 The Nokia 3650 and The Samsung A310 ===================== Anyone own or have an opinion on these phones? Someone step up and help me out here!
