What brought this question on is that in my fantasy football league a guy posted this message: From the content of this message it seems pretty clear that he believes by conceding the win before any game has been played that he is hoping that he can simultaneously jinx his opponent while at the same time throw out vibes to his own players to have career days. Now I have to say that this guy is a real tool, and I don't know what prompted me to do it, but I ended up posting a message essentially trying to expose the jinx, to get it out in the open, and it seems clear to me that my motivation for doing so is to thereby jinx the jinxer and thus set the natural order of events back in place. I wanted to cancel his jinx. My question is simple, do you believe in getting jinxed? Do you believe that you can create your own jinx? Another story: My brother, when he played blackjack for money would get drunk and then he would try to create situations for himself wheareby he'd hit 19 to get a 21 and play unorthodox blackjack and convince himself that he couldn't lose and that you couldn't beat him. And then sometimes he'd go off on these random philosophical musings about how he understands the deep nature of cards. I don't quite know if this was a jinx or what, but he was clearly believing that in order to win at cards he had to put himself into another realm, a third dimension three sheets to the wind.
Ha ha the old jinxers... I had a friend who would always put his pool cue up and say 'good game' before you sank the last shot.
This sounds stupid as all hell, but you separate your paragraphs well and seem to be enjoying yourself.
Quite the contrary. I don't enjoy being jinxed. But I know what you are saying. My English "pedegree" was good for something I suppose.
