Since i am not that good with computer, figured i would ask u computer folk out there i just got a new Apple Ipod and need to get my mp3s from my personal computer on it. however, my computer sucks and i figured i would another computer in the house, which as a Firewire connection, to transport the files. Both computers are sharing a cable connection with a router. i was wondering what i needed to do in order to transfer the files thanks very much and any help would be appreciated Vamsi Reddy
Let me see if I'v got this right. You have the follwing: an iPod A PC with no FW port that has all your music. A PC with a FW port that has no music. Both PC's are connected to a cable modem via a router. Is that right? If so, you may be able to assign an IP address to each PC (10.0.1.1 & 10.0.1.2) to set up a tiny little network among them and then share the files to the PC with the FW port...
I think if you have Windows XP on both of them, there is a network creation wizard that is very simple to use.
