question maybe someone here worked/works at a best buy so i bought the transformers 2 blu-ray earlier this week there and went home and opened it and just popped it in to see how it looked. to my disappointment the blu-ray did not contain the IMAX scenes from the movie. turns out only WAL-MART carries the imax version of the movie (which is slightly longer too) is there any way for me to return the blu-ray I purchase at best buy (I still have the receipt) for store credit even though it has been opened? I am not looking for my money back or anything just exchange for another blu-ray?
this is what I found on thier website Opened computer software, movies, music and video games can be exchanged for the identical item but cannot be returned for a refund http://www.bestbuy.com/olspage.jsp?type=page&contentId=1117177044087&id=cat12098
yeah thats what i remember I wonder if I can exchange it for a new one then go to a different store and return that new one for store credit i've heard of stores having like exclusive packaging on blu-rays/dvds but never heard of stores having like exclusive versions of the movie thats just annoying. its not that this is a great movie but i am a huge transformers fan so i'd like to have the IMAX version I just thought it was going to be on all the blu-rays much like how it was on dark knight
That sounds like something I'd do. Way to get over on the man, Yoyo you deserve a cookie for that one! I'm sure they won't figure it out if you pull a double return. Go for it!
Actually, Walmart will take back anything, so sure, go for it. It's pretty much standard around every software retailer that you cannot return it for a refund if it's been open, only for an exchange for the same product.
I know Yoyo, have never seen store have exclusive verisons of the film I'd just heard about this as well, weird, I hope that doesn't become standard operating practices.
yeah. i hate to admit. i've bought a game somewhere else, opened it, and took it back to walmart. Walmart will exchange it. Just say it didnt play in your blu ray player...i did that with planet earth. i accidentally dropped a disc and got a scatch on it. i didnt feel bad taking it back....it's walmart
I bought a new PS2 from wal-mart back in the day, then my friend took my brand new case, and switched it out with an old broken PS2, not only did Wal-mart take it back, but they replaced it with the newer PS2 bundle which included 2 controllers and a game.
That depends on if you get the old woman at the return counter or someone that knows what they are doing. Usually nowadays, they check the serial numbers.
The serial numbers matched because he switched the casings. Even on the PS3 the serial number is on a sticker.
I actually considered doing that with that 360 I got burned on from that rogue bbs'er. Unfortunately, I don't have the techincal know how to take the casing apart. Ending up taking the defective 360 to gamestop for credit.
Why didn't I post before you that you were going to post this? Haha... they might be, sir. They might be. Now I know you hate McDonald's AND Wal-Mart. You're not the only one... so I know many share the same thought. El YoYo, how would you like to sell that blu-Ray disc? I probably would not care about the WorstBuy reward zone points I'd lose, but... I'd like to help you out, sir.
