My wife is getting a new pair of eye glasses, but the lenses does not seem right. The doctor's office says some people cannot adjust to aspheric lenses, is that a known problem for that type of lenses or are they just making things up? They are going to let her have another pair of lenses so we have to decide what type of lenses to get.

I loooked on google but did not see anyone mention this type of problem.

Never heard of such things... do the "other" lenses cost more?

My recommendation, especially if they are a new prescription, is for her to wear them for a week or two. Sometimes it takes a while for your eyes/brain to adjust to new lenses.

Several factors can affect how you see out of the lenses, including the type of lense, the actual size of lense, where they sit on your face (frames), and the new prescription.

If after a week or two she is still having problems, then try to get it resolved.

It took me a good two weeks to adjust to my new lenses the last time (I hadn't changed glasses in about five years before that).

One thing that they SHOULD test now is a quick vision test with the new lenses. Make sure they got the actual prescription correct.

I have regular glasses and prescription sunglasses. The first time I picked up the prescription sunglasses I could barely read the license plate of the car in front of me. I give it a week (usually takes me 2 days to adjust) and it doesn't get any better.

So I tell Lenscrafters and and they said 'well you shouldn't have gotten those sunglasses they're more difficult to shape the lenses correctly'. Of course, these glasses explicitly say they are available for prescription lenses, no warning about the difficulty of making lenses for them, and suffice it to say I'm not an expert at lens crafting so the thought never entered my mind when purchasing them. I tell them to do it again and they get much better.

I'm guessing the arch of the lens was not centered properly on my eye the first time they made it. I don't know if this helps any in your situation...

That might very well be the case.
