I'm looking to go to an astros game soon and I'm thinking about sitting in the club level..Tried to get some suite tickets but couldn't find any for sale..Theres a guy selling club level passes and says I can use any ticket to get into the stadium, and then with these passes I can get into the club level. Just wondering if this is true? He's from CL (red flag) and says I could buy a $5 view deck ticket and then the pass separately and sit in the club level. I also read that they come and take your order personally here and serve hard liquor mixed drinks as well. Wondering if anyone has sat in the club level and know if I need an actual ticket or just the pass? Also, if anyone has sat in the club level, how is the experience compared to other seats? Thanks
Everytime I sat in the Club level we had tickets with specific seats designated on them for the Club level. Yes, they do have people who come and take your order. And there are bars at on the concourses where you can pick up a drink.
I have had club passes before and had seats elsewhere, I believe season ticket holders get them. If you use them you don't have a seat in the club section, you are let in and can use the concessions and other things in the concourse of the level. It had a/c and area where you could sit and watch the game on tv's and there were areas you could see the game. You will not have a seat though to go sit in and watch. Well you will but it will be a $5 view deck seat. The passes only get you into the concourse area and not the seating areas. We actually enjoyed the time we were in there. We brought my son who at the time was 10 months. It was a rather warm day and we took him up to take advantage of the AC.
They used to (and may still) offer suite tix. They were last year as you could purchase a minimum number of tix for a birthday party or other event. I don't know about the scenario this guy is describing, but in the past I've bought club level tix and just like most other sections in the park someone is waiting there to verify if you belong in that section. One interesting aspect of the club level is it can be a bit more subdued than other parts of the park, therefore seems somehow quieter -- or rather, it allows you to carry on a conversation about the game without being drowned out too much with all the noise pumped in over the speakers. More importantly, though, is that you can walk a much shorter distance from your seat to the bar to grab a drink. Oh, and by drink I mean one with real, top-shelf liquor in it. I can't remember if they'd come and serve them to us, but it's possible and I seem to remember this being the case. They certainly offer delivery service at the Diamond Club level. Overall, I've enjoyed the few chances I've had to sit club level. I married into Astros/Texans/Rockets/Dynamo tix, so haven't had to buy my own tix to an Astros game in a few years. That probably changes next year and the family is discussing the possibility of buying a handful of club level season tix.
I got club tickets last month, front row through Stubhub for about $25 a piece, which is pretty damn good. Anyway, I really enjoyed it (w/ my son, wife and my dad). Yes, they do wait on you (service was quite slow considering only about 10-12 others were in our entire section) and food was ok. Next time I am going to sit in the $5 seats and get the food/drinks myself. It was nice being able to go onto the air conditioned concourse.
Cool, thanks for the feedback. Looks like I won't go through the CL guy and I'll just get club level seats off stubhub or something
