Okay, so Sterling doesn't like to spend money. Everyone knows that. He's letting Kandi go, and will likely lose all or part of his nucleus of Dre, Odom and Brand. Everybody talks about the Rockets making a trade for some of them, and about how inevitable it is that some Clippers will become Rockets. I feel like as long as the Rockets have been in pajamas, a major trade with the Clippers has been right around the corner... What I want to know is, who else is likely to make a trade with the Clippers. Sending Cat, Cato, Rice, Griff, or whoever over there makes some sense on both sides, but who are we competing with? Who else dreams of pulling one over on Sterling? Who else has underpaid guys or overpaid guys with contracts about to run out?
To be honest I want Maggette the most boy can shoot, is young, athletic! I want him and he plays the 2 and 3! Solves 2 problems!
I dont think you understood my question. My point is that I'm sure a lot of teams have their eye on the potential firesale in LA. What I want to know who else wants a piece of the Clippers and who do you all think they will will be willing to give for them?
I think just about every team in the NBA would like at least 1 or 2 players from the Clips. And Im sure there all trying to figure out some to get them cheaply.
I basically disagree with the whole Sterling bashing thing. Let's face it, that team is just not that good. So I have to ask, how good are the players? Yes, we want their players at a fire sale. But does anybody want the Kandi man at a max contract. I'll give a better example. Mo Taylor. Typicall Clipper spoiled brat. Demanded a huge salary in mid seasson, then would not negotiate with the Clips because they dissed him. Rockets pick him up cheap - great dea. We sign him to the type of contract he asked the Clippers for and now he is unmovable. What did Sterling do wrong? The Clippers have a lot of talent, but most of those players have questions surrounding them. Personally I would not commit to a $12,000,000.00 seven year contract ( I think that is the max) for unmotivated Kandi, druggie Odom (and I like drugs), or any of the other wonder kids. The only exception, in my opinion is Brand, and I bet he is the one who Sterling resigns. Who are the great players the Clippers let go. I know Mo Taylor and Derek Anderson. I consider both to be no more than slightly above average talent, not worth upper level salaries. Who else do the Clippers wish they had back at their current salary?
