So I was given this used Blackberry Curve 8320 smartphone that was designed for AT&T. I have T-Mobile, and really don't like the layout AT&T has for this Blackberry (Menus, etc). So I have a question of a technical nature, I guess: is there a way to modify this phone so that it would be a T-Mobile phone? Note my question is not about unlocking the phone, it is already unlocked. I am just wondering if there is a way to have it power up to a T-Mobile logo and layout as opposed to an AT&T one. It is a minor annoyance, I know, but would still like to make the change if there is a way to do it.

    Thanks fellas...

I haven't messed with my Blackberry for a while now, but if you don't like the layout, I doubt changing the firmware will do anything for the layout. There are various themes and wallpapers available for download that will change the background, the layout of the icons on the home screen, etc.

I personally browse pinstack.com if I need to research anything about blackberries. I wish I could give a more detailed response, but like I said, I haven't messed with mine for a while.

    myco is right.

No need to change firmware. Just search for Blackberry themes.

I'm using this one, but with a different background...

Makes sense, I will try out the suggestions for doing this. Only one other problem: The 8320 from T-Mobile supports UMA calling, which is a feature only unique to T-Mobile and I've found to be quite useful at times. Does anyone know if this is a software thing or just a theme thing? I would really like to have that feature enabled on the phone somehow.

UMA is strictly a phone model thing. I had the t-mobile 8320 and now i'm using the 8900 and I use UMA when I'm home.
