I want to know why so many of you in here hate Bud Adams so much. I mean I came to U.S. in 89 and Houston in 90. Then I started following the Cowboys around in 93. So I never really found out what Bud Adams did to demand so much hatred from you all. ------------------ MANGO - Get in my BELLAY!
I'm not exactly an "old-timer", but I followed the Oilers ever since about 1976 or so. I was a huge fan and wanted to grow up to play for the Oilers. Earl Campbell was my first sports hero. He was my "DREAM", before Akeem ever made it to U of H. I loved all my Oilers: Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, Dan Pastorini, Robert Brazile, Carl Mauck, Tony Fritsch, Gregg Bingham, Mike Barber, Kenny Burrough, etc. Those guys all made me an Oiler (and sports) fan. Growing up in Texas there are certain things little boys learn to love and football is definitely one of them. Just about all of my Dad's brothers and sisters all lived in and around the Austin and College Station area and all rooted for the Cowboys. But, not me. I was from Houston and I always wanted the Oilers to win, especially when they played Dallas. They were the home team, and even though they were about as successful as the Astros, I always thought they were more exciting and more fun to watch. It was just that Bud Adams took MY FOOTBALL AWAY!!!!!! A Texan should NEVER be without football, it ain't right. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
