Has there ever been a playoff team where the starting backcourt averaged less than 10 assists (combined) a game?
They had injuries both years to their backcourt so multiple listed. Also, they averaged as a team about twice as many assists as the Rockets, so it all depends on the team... 2001-2002 Kobe 5.5 assists per game Derek Fisher 2.6 assists per game Brian Shaw 1.5 assists per game 2000-2001 Kobe 5.0 assists per game Derek Fisher 3.0 assists per game Ron Harper 2.4 assists per game Brian Shaw 3.2 assists per game
Good point. The Rockets championship years, the guards didn't average too much, but Olajuwon and all the other players got a few, which added up to a lot for the team. Mobley and Francis cannot win by themselves, the Rockets need to play as a team on offense!
We need better passing to get more inside opportunities to score but there is a complete lack of trust in the centers right now.Yao is just not ready yet but he needs to get more aggressive in getting to the foul line even when he is not shooting well. It's better to foul out on the offense end rather than waiting to be attacked on the defensive end. Cato had a bad game, but Steve should have kept on feeding Griffin who had a good game with 23 points. Mobley needs to drive to the hole when the shots are not going down. We are missing T-Mo on the defensive end and Mo-T's jump shooting but unless we get more scoring from the 5 spot from Yao and improved overall defense we won't be able to make it to the playoffs.
