i'm from holland, and a friend of me sayd that there is a dutch player in the draft this year. but he didn't know his name, only that his name ends with .......VIC.
because i wasn't to fond of Smits, (the dutch people overrated him), and we all know how well Zwikker played (i think he didn't play 1 minute). can anybody tell me what his name is and what kind of player he is, and when he is expected to be picked????

That would be Dan Gadzuric, from The Hague. Now a senior at UCLA. 2.10 m, 109 kg center. He'll probably be a late-first, early-second round pick.

NBAdraft.net profile (worth its weight in gold, considering it's just a bunch of electrons)
    UCLA profile (nice and official)
BBS search for "gadzuric" (may not work after a while; I've never tried posting search results before)

From gr8-1: "He looked like quite an athelete. Very alert, quick and strong. I think he will be a solid pro."

From NIKEstrad: "I like Gadzuric, but he's got tons of problems-he's already 24, which is old for a college senior, and is having pretty bad knee troubles that I think will be chronic, shooting BELOW 50% as a FT shooter, and not having a good year (10.5-7 with less than 1 BPG)."

(Note: Gadzuric picked up his game after that post; his final stats were 11.7-7.7, with 1.3 BPG. He's still 24, and stayed under 50% from the line.)

Not that you should care what I think :), but I agree with both assessments above.

I've followed Gadzuric somewhat closely over the years, and I think he has done a good job of improving during his 4 years at UCLA.

He still has potential, as he didn't start playing bball until late.

The problem with him, is that he is not well conditioned and has trouble running the floor. Also, foul trouble seemed to plague him.

I think he would be worth a late 1st round/2nd round pick.
