I have read in previous posts that the Rockets have 4 first round picks in the 2001 draft. I realize that one pick comes from the Turkan deal and one comes from the Pryzbilla deal but where does the other come from and who actually owes us the pick from the Turkan trade? ------------------
AC, welcome to the board...have you been a rocket fan in Austin for awhile. To answer your question, everyone wants to know the very same thing. The admins started an entire forum for these issues. You might find your answers over in the NBA Draft 2001 area quicker than here, cause this forum is too busy with roster, moves, games, and player evaluations. You might also want to look at a site devoted to such questions managed other posters here called: www.draftsource.net By the way Clutch....should Rockets 2000: Game Action and Roster Moves change its name to 2001?
1) Detroit owes us a pick.(Turksan deal via NY,PHilly) 2) Milwaukee owes us a pick from the Collier trade.(The can not be in the top ten or they get to keep the pick. If they keep the pick I believe they have eight years to give us one) 3) Orlando owes us a pick because of the Steve Francis deal.(But we also owe Vancouver a pick because of this deal) 4) We also have our own pick. ------------------ Fuggetabout it

ac in austin -- The Rockets are only guaranteed one pick, their own (though theoretically they're not even guaranteed that since they owe Vancouver a pick this season or next from the Francis trade) A good bet is Milwaukee's pick, though if it's in the Top 10 the Rockets do not receive it. First year it's not in the Top 10 they get it. The other two picks are from Orlando (Don MacLean deal) and Detroit (via Philly, Mirsad Turkcan deal), but it's possible neither one will come to Houston for the 2001 Draft. If the Rockets get a late first round pick, look for them to possibly fulfill their obligation to VAN by then sending that pick that way. But it's anyone's guess how many picks they will end up with in this draft. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
