They said on ESPN in discussing the Denver-Dallas series that no team who lost a season series to another team by 3-0 or more has ever beaten that team in the playoffs. But didn't San Antonio sweep the season series 4-0 against us in 1995, then we beat them in 6 in the playoffs? Anyone know?
What dtowninyourtown said. But, a bit longer for me. ^^ http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/1995_games.html
The Spurs went 5-1 against us that year. There were a lot fewer teams then, and we used to play some division rivals 6 times a year.
I dont really care what the history says. There will always be a first for something. No team ever won the championship w/o having won at least a series the year prior, but the C's became the first last year, so it'd be nice to make history ourselves.
Our lone win against the spurs is right here. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ty-WW3bW55g&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ty-WW3bW55g&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I was there. Hakeem was just on fire that game and abused the Spurs to no end. And once Maxwell got the ball, I knew it was over. Man that was a fun game to be at.
1989 I think, Chicago was 0 - 6 against Cleveland during the season. They won in the playoffs anyway.
Yes it was 1989 http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CHI/1989_games.html 0 - 6 Chicago - Cleveland Season 3 - 2 Chicago - Cleveland playoffs
