Has anyone seen it? I just got through watching it & thought it was a really cool vampire flick. There's plenty of action & some great special effects. It's a bit gory, as you would expect, but I still enjoyed it. If you love really loud rock & roll (or was it Heavy Metal?), then you'll like it. Aaliyah doesn't play the lead role, but she does play a major role & does she ever look good. It's truely a shame that she died. I think she would've been a really good actress, before it was all said & done. Any opinions or thoughts?

    Very good movie.

Not particularly faithful to the book, but pretty dang close.

RM95, that doesn't really ruin it. It's more vampire vs. vampire than vampire vs. human. ;)

In fact, I didn't think vampire(s) "won" at all.

Really, I've never read the book but my brother said it was very different. More a combination of a couple of Anne Rice books with some characters removed and new ones added in. Closer to a Jurrasic Park port than a Fellowship of the Ring.

Well he's about right on the mark in that description. In some aspects, the movie follows the book pretty close, but it is definitely a different take on the book. There is just too much in the book to fit into a 2 hour movie :)

Much better than I thought it would be. I'm glad they chose to ignore the Interview with a Vampire's very very very CRAPPY ending.

:addendum: - now that I think about it, QotD, was more a combination of two books, the Vampire Lestat, and QotD, which isn't that bad of an idea, imo. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the ending. Felt like a drop-off, though not as bad as Interview.

i liked queen of the damned too much to go see this movie....odd, huh???

i did clearly see the rock star role of Lestat that really comes from The Vampire Lestat more than anything in Queen of the Damned.

I was pleasantly surprised with Interview with the Vampire..don't think I could bring myself to see this one though...I think Akasha is far more interesting in my imagination from the book than any actress could possibly portray.

You might be interested in the set up of the possible Blade three then. Dave Goyer, the scribe on blade one and two, recently said "In all these different stories the vampires are trying to take over the world. For the third film, I just want to say, 'f*** it.' They've won. Now what is the world like?"

This movie came out along time ago
    And made sense then
    If you were vampire
You would start a rock band

Marvel multiverse dimension where all authors are women. Lestat is who we got instead of Blade. Instead of fight scenes it’s tawdry sex and dinner parties. Sort of like She-Hulk.
