A couple of different sites have updates, and none seem to be better than the rest from what I can tell. Here's a liveblog link from IGN and coverage from 1UP:
    http://pc.ign.com/articles/895/895619p1.html

    Doom 4 announcement:
    http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3169099
Wolfenstein trailer (think this is different from the E3 trailer, but I might be wrong):
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=37743"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=37743" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>
    Some previews online as well

    Extended E3 trailer for Rage
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=37824"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=37824" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>
Not so sure about the game itself, but I really like the tech, especially if it is supposed to be identical (or nearly identical) on the PC (and Mac), 360, and PS3, running at 60 FPS. Much better than most of the alternatives it seems (getting tired of UE3). I'd like to get a little more about the engine...not sure if sites will be posting more from the event or not.

A bit more controversial, but John Carmack did add that the 360 version of Rage might suffer due to storage issues (something about extra fees with releasing 3 DVDs, and they don't want to pay that, so they'll compress it for 2 DVDs). Probably a good way to get Microsoft to change their stance and make some changes. Carmack sure likes to publicly complain about these consoles from time to time, although I guess he is more or less entitled. Unlike other developers, it seems like they'll still make sure each version looks and runs great.

1UP posted some interviews with Carmack and the lead designer for Rage (missed these originally):

They could simply put a 500gb HD in the 400 dollar 360 and install all the extra data, textures, whatever.

Plus it makes the 360 look that much better as the media center it's slowly turning into.

How many 500GB 2.5" HDDs are there out there? Especially ones that could be included in a 360 and keep under $400 or so. Not that it would work anyway at this point since everyone with a 360 would have to purchase this HDD in order to play one or more games. Not quite that simple IMO.

And on top of that, this doesn't really solve the issue that Carmack has with Microsoft. He describes it much better in the video interview I posted, but basically his issue is not with hardware, but Microsoft's policy regarding disc storage. As you can imagine, Microsoft would prefer it if developers stuck to 1 disc for their games (in fact, this apparently a requirement early on). As a means of dissuading developers from putting out multi-disc games, developers (or technically publishers I guess) must pay an extra royalty fee for every extra disc they use. He doesn't seem to have a problem with just putting the game out on 3 (or even more discs if necessary), but this would mean they'd have to pay MS more and more money, which isn't exactly good for id's business plan I suppose.

Go external and you can use cheap 3.5", and in a year the 500gb 2.5's will come down or put in a 3.5 when they finish the die shrink redesign. My point was more that if you only have to use those extra disks once it's not a big deal and if you have a 60 or 80 gb PS3 vs a 500gb 360 it's going to look good for Microsoft, Blu-ray or not.

If it looks good for Microsoft, they wouldn't have the fees, at least according to the news clip.

Don't think Microsoft (or Sony) want game code stored on external HDDs, and 3.5" HDDs are too big for consoles (especially since both probably want to "slim" their consoles ala the PS2). I know it seems like a simple solution, but between these issues plus others such as splintering the usebase (20M 360s don't have 500GB HDDs), this isn't really an ideal solution.

True. I think that's actually a good idea that both should take, especially as they try to make their consoles smaller. Still, I don't think they'd put in 500GB, but more like the capacities you see in the HDDs today (60GB-80GB, although 20GB might be more reasonable). Still have the other problems too.
