LINK "It is also reported that Brunell and several of his co-investors (also former teammates) have defaulted on 'multiple' loans involving different properties around the country." $52 Million depleted on frivolous spending and bad investments. SAD.
Weird. Would've been the last guy I pegged to go bankrupt; especially LESS THAN A YEAR after retiring.
I don't think he's broke, just wants to get from under bad investments and doesn't want his personal wealth at stake
on another note, always like to watch the lefty play, he was underrated imo. I remember when he came in here and lit the texans up with the redskins. the texans had started off poorly but played some quality qbs, brunell was quality but he was way past his prime
Well, another athlete make bad business decisions...I'm not an athlete, nor am I rich, but if any windfall came my way, i'd still be the penny pinching mofo I am today...I can't fathom how people can just piss away their fortune...
always like brunell but what a dumbass... are you kidding me, michigan? failed real-estate investments also included projects in Traverse City, Mich., and Grand Rapids, Mich.
i just dont understand the mentality of these athletes. Sure, I can understand getting into something to keep you busy but why put your nest egg in jeopordy when it is more than enough to live a fantastic life? that being said, like someone else said, i'd guess he's fine. His group just decided to bail on some land that went south
I remember reading an article that said Torii Hunter invested like $80,000 in floatation devices that people can attach to the bottom of their furniture so it doesn't get ruined in case of flooding. This is when I stopped being surprised with ANY story about athletes blowing money.
