anyone have one of those Mensa or other puzzle a day calendars? Man those things are ridiculously fun and challenging. One of the girls here at work got one as a gift and me and another supervisor have a monthly challenge now going to see who can get the most right. We have set a 5 minute time limit so we dont spend all day wasting our time on it. If there is a question where there are multiple answers whoever gets the majority of the answers gets the question for the day. once someone believes they got the answer right they can have someone else check to see if its correct, but if its not correct they can keep going until the 5 minutes is up. If they themselves check to see if its correct then the other person has the rest of the 5 minutes or until they give up. We do one per day except mondays when we do 3 (sat, sun, mon) If one of us is not here during the week we do 2 (or however many days) the following day both of us are at the office if no one gets it right then its a draw or if the time limit expires. The loser has to buy the winner lunch at the place of the winners choice. And of course the winner has bragging rights for the following month. Its a simple friendly, but competitive bet. We've created work gangs though at work the scoreboard is written on a white board on one side of office and currently I am up 6-3 (we actually just started 2 weeks ago). The workers here have taken sides as to who they want to win...One person (whose parents own a company that makes custom shirts) actually made a shirt that said Go Shri! (thats me) on it and wore it last friday. Now my mortal mental enemy is trying to get some of her employees to get tshirts made. The owner of the company is into our little game now too but he only asks that we do it in the morning when there are fewer employees at the office so it isnt as much of a distraction. The 10 or so people who are here in the mornings all huddle and try to see if they can get it right before we can and cheer their person. And in order for neither of us to try to cheat (not that I would or she would) the calendar is kept in a locked drawer that only the owner has access to. And he gives us the puzzle in the morning. Its also somewhat honor system since I or she could go out and buy the same calendar but its a lot funner to do it the way we do. And I dont plan to do that and I trust her not to do the same. ok now back to work
