amazing perspective from someone who has been there before...hard to imagine the king of the Nasty Boys writing this article...but even guys like that are humbled.

I understand how you feel. But that really says nothing about the article. I think that Mr. Dibble really made an important and very substantive statement. Your post could have been in any number of threads on the topic of the strike.

This is an example of a guy who had an epipheny later in life. He is one of those guys who "gets it" albeit a little late for him to have any real input on the situation.

They always seem to GET IT . . AFTER their time has past.

Seems kind of hypocritical to me. During 1994 he was all in the
    strike mode. . NOW. . .as a reporter . .er. . .fan . ..er . . .guy who
visited a sick kid. . . . well . .. now it is just wrong!

I love how the retired always can begin to see the reality they could NEVER see during there playing days

good article. . but i am a bit cynical.

I don't blame you. All I can say is that once you are no longer in the situation you gain objectivity. Many of the players who don't understand the financial side of things rely on Don Fehr and his crew. I'm not saying it justifies a strike...it does explain the thought process though.
