i think rudy should put Yao to bench for his stamina is a big problem. In china,he play game twice one week.and 28-35 matchs one year.so he need time to bulid his stamina to adapt it. a fan of rockets and yao from china.
I know you tried to say it in a mix of chinese and engilsh. but I really don't understand what it means and I'm a chinese.
but putting him on the court when he's not 100% is not in the interest of the team. he can build up his stamina in practices.
If you are a fan of Rockets and Yao from China, you don't seem very supportive of Yao's play so far. What is the use of benching him? While building stamina on the bench, he isn't going to be helping the team at all. I'm guessing you must be a fairweather fan....
Jonhty: I believe he's trying to say "you're not a fan". Except it came out kind of wrong. I don't know why people care so much about whether he's starting or not. It's more a matter of minutes. 20 minutes off the bench is the same as 20 minutes starting. Personally, I'm wondering if more minutes now will hinder him in any way comes playoff time, since the Rockets look like a good bet to be there. If so, then I agree to reduce his minutes, especially if Cato plays well. Otherwise, play him as much as he can handle so he can learn faster.
I think maybe Yao never played so many minutes in a week before. And obviously he is tired in last game. And i think Rudy need decrease his minutes.
The body needs time to rest to recover from new stresses placed on it, else he risks injury. If he's spent, he'll need to back-off some.
Stamina can be worked on in practices, off the court. But still. Don't bench him. Bring him off the bench, but give him good minutes.
Benching him is an overreaction imo.. Even in reduced minutes, he can be a factor in many games.. and also, stamina is not something that is picked up exclusively in games..it can be built thru hard practices. Hard physical activity is hard physical activity..whether it be in game or practice.
That is true but there is no replacement for game minutes. You can practice as hard as you can stand it and you will still exert more during a game than in practice. Yao needs work in both the practice side and game time minutes. The more he plays the better he will get.
I think Yao will have a tough strech now teams figured out his weakness. It may help that he start the game at bench.
Ugh. If he doesn't play enough, all we hear is Rudy sucks and needs to play him. If he starts and plays good minutes (and plays well mind you), then we hear that Rudy needs to limit his minutes. For crying out loud, Yao is 22 years old. 22!!! He should be able to run for days, then jog to cool down. He is not 32, so rest is out of the question. For him to learn the league, he MUST play, and play now. Rest him if we fall out of playoff contention. But now, Yao must play to learn the league. Anyone here who ever played a sport (not playstation) knows that when you are 22-25, you don't get tired. That is when your body is at it's peak physically, so now is when Yao can learn the most. He will NOT learn if he is on the bench!!!
I hope he didnt mean bench him as in not play him at all. I personally would like to see Cato get the start, and bring Yao in with about 4 minutes left in the first. Yao coming off the bench right now seems to work very well. I still think that Yao needs about 28 to 30 minutes.
