OK - I call this medical services place, and I ask them a simple yes or no question. The chick on the phone says, I don't know, let me go find someone who can help you, and puts me on hold. That was 28 minutes and 11 seconds ago, and counting. I've been wanting to hang up for the past 20 minutes, but I kind of want to hear the person's reaction when (IF) someone finally does get back to me. What's the longest you've ever been put on hold without someone checking back in on you? And what did you do about it?
Do you know the name of the person put you on hold? Hang up and call again, ask to speak with a supervisor, and tell the supervisor what happened. I never let a person put me on hold for more than 10 minutes. I know my time is more precious than their's.
I hate it when you are on hold, and you listen to those gay music for half an hour. Then, the music stops, and the other side hangs up.
Most call centers tell their people to come back at least every 2 minutes and tell the customer that they are still working on their problem.
What was you doing on hold while you were camping? Unless you were stranded and needed to be rescued then thats understandable.
yeah most call centers are good about it, but I called this office directly. I suppose I'll just drive down there and talk to someone face to face. I was just hoping to have an answer before I actually went into the office.
When the person come back, tell them that you need to put them on hold, then put the phone near your computer speaker, and start blasting Rick Roll for the next 20 minutes.
comcast put me on hold for 2 hours. First the inital hold, then I tell them my problem so they transfer me to a higher level of tech support...thats hold 2. Tech support then transfers me to their manager...3rd hold. The manager then has to discuss with other managers and that was hold 4. I ended up getting 1 month service (around 250 value) credited to my account for their douchbaggery.
Time Warner Cable had me on hold for almost an hour when I called for tech support for the Roadrunner services. I was pissed and they didn't even fix the problem.
It's not only customer support that has the gay music and ads. I have a buddy that used to work in management at Bush Airport. He would put me on hold if someone came up to his desk. It was about where to park and eat at Bush, and the statistics of how busy it is.
I've been on several holds with Tmobile which probably accumulated to a good hour. Didn't get the problem resolved until the third call. Luckily for them I'm a pretty patient person though in one instance I did miss a class because of it. That was only 1 isolated event and the other times I've had to deal with Tmobile were pretty quick and the person was nice. When I cut off my account with them, it actually took about 5 minutes. No holds.
I never wait longer than 5 minutes, unless they have come back on the line to say we're still trying. Just hang up and call back.
