Phx is a major team in the league. In my opinion, they're the only team that can isolate the Rockets and chip away at us. BUT.....tonight was just not our night. Coming off the Orlando game while Phx had the whole weekend off. It's just natural to be exhausted and dragging on the court. The Suns are not our concern going into the Clipper game and all the other upcoming teams. Let's stay focused on the road to the playoffs and get Yao his stamina back. A season game is different from a playoff series. Give us a seven game series against Phx and anything can happen. As of now, let's continue doing what we do. Bonzi bring your fat a** back, JVG keep emphasizing defense, and please don't be shy in expanding our rotation...........when the shots fall no one questions or says anything but when Tracy or Rafer have an off night all hell breaks loose. Get a grip people, we got alot more basketball to play. Go Rockets!
They have done this to us for the past 2 seasons, it's not just tonight. Rockets just simply aren't good enough against the better teams. Love chuck's effort though.
People need to stop making the excuse that we always play them back-to-back and that's why we lose to the Suns. That is not why we lost to the Suns. We'd usually lose to the Suns even if we had 10 days in a row off. We lose to the Suns because our team isn't built for them; we're one of the slowest teams in the NBA and should be lose to them in the playoffs, I wouldn't feel ashamed. Every team has a team they struggle with, even during our champion years we couldn't take over Seattle, and conversely, the old Sonics couldn't matchup well with the eighth-seeded Nuggets at the time. Basketball trancends records. It's about matchups and styles. I think we can beat the Mavericks and I think they're afraid of us. I think we can beat every other team but the Suns, and if we don't meet them in the playoffs, I think we have a really good shot at the championship. If somehow we ended up playing Utah, Dallas, San Antonio, and [insert Eastern team here], we'll have a chance. That's why I don't worry.
Wish we had taken a page from Jerry Sloan's book and started knocking the sh*t out of Phoenix players (like Barbosa) every time they drove the lane. Hmmm... maybe that's why Utah is 3-0 against them.
yeah I'm not getting a good feeling against the top teams, esp. the suns, mavs, spurs just seems like our sphincters tighten up against them....
No excuses guys for losing against the Suns, we just do not know how to play them. They out hussle us we brick shots and give them fast break opportunities and we do not guard the 3 point line and let them rain in on us. They kill us on those damn fast breaks we have to slow s*** down. People need to hit open shots when Yao is double teamed. Well we get one more shot against Phx in April lets hope JVG learns something.
sadly I am off the rafer wagon also, i dont recall him having a good game at all against the top teams. Whenever he makes a 3 or the crummy teardrop, I just think it's fools gold, like shaq making a freethrow. hell, I'm more optimistic about Hayes' FTs then Rafer's shots. sheesh we're so screwed come playoff time it's not even funny...
i like rafer, nice guy, plays hard... i cannot quite describe to you what I feel when I see something formulating into a teardrop, or when i see a 3 point shot with 20 seconds on the clock, or one of those 17 footers with 20 seconds to go, or another one of those guys just driving right by him, or, forget it... he is what he is
man it's a horrible game by us and we were still in teh game until we gave up b/c barbosa kept hitting shots. tmac SUCKED. yao stunk. rest of team except for howard and hayes were PATHETIC. JVG was CLUELESS. so relax. our D can contain nash and the starters. but it's these random guys that will kill us. hopefully JVG can come up w/ something to combat their bench. TMAC and yao sucked so much and we were down only 9 to start the 4th. tmac was wack after the first quarter not driving. yao was soft letting thomas punked him 1-on-1. yet we were still w/in range. so RELAX.
4 wins, 6 Losses. Against the contenders, ie Suns, Dallas, Miami, Lakers, Jazz, Detrot, and Spurs, it's: 7 Wins, 12 Losses.
