Kornheiser and Wilbon talked about JJ's New Orleans situation for about a minute and a half today, and they both agreed that JJ should simply report to the Hornets as a courtesy, if he wants to be dealt to a better team. They implied that failing to report is insulting to management, and that his trade request would go through if he just showed up.

Just passing along the info. Any thoughts?

Didn't think it deserved another thread, but in the same PTI episode, Kornheiser and Wilbon did a "Toss Up!" between "Yao Ming - Promising or Disapointing"

Kornheiser said that he was disapointing, citing that he's 30th in the league in rebounding and doesn't get to the line enough.

Wilbon disagreed, saying that Yao gives you 18/8, and you can't name another center other than Shaq who gives you 18/8.

Kornheiser says Tim Duncan, Wilbon blows it off 'cause Timmy doesn't play the 5.

Kornheiser ends saying it's not about stats, it's about making ur team better (seeming to imply that Yao doesn't do that).

As time expires, Wilbon says that the Rockets are in fact getting better and will make the playoffs.

    * oh, btw, Statboy confirmed that Yao is indeed the only player listed as a center that gives you 18/8 other than Shaq (Amare's still listed as a four, I guess, and we all know Duncan plays the four).

At least Vancouver was decent enough to trade Steve after he made his intentions known, before he had to miss any games.

"and doesn't get to the line enough."

I liked what they had to say as usual. If he would have reported on time (and even now) he could have gotten traded out of there. They both agreed that he has a reason be to angry but he is a pro and gets paid to deal with stuff like trades.

New Orleans is perfectly happy NOT paying a guy to be on their team.

This season's lost anyway. You'd have to trade them something pretty good to pry him from their roster. It's one less player's salary they have to pay while they tank in hopes of a #1 draft pick.

    Really?

I consider it to be the best sports show on television. Kornheiser and Wilbon are actually two of the few sports journalists I respect.

Interesting you said that, since seemingly everyone I know feels it's the only good show of its type of TV (Around the Horn and I-Max are both horrible, The Best Damn Sports Show has become unwatchable, and I don't consider pre-game coverage - like on TNT - to be a "sports show").

Do a lot of ppl hate PTI?

    Just curious.

Yao not getting to the line enough?

#8 per 48minutes in NBA despite limited touches and unfavorable officiating by refs. That guy sure doesn't know what he's talking about.

I just think it is 2 blowhards whining about sports.

Heck you can get that here on the BBS just by reading our posts.

    :)

Just would rather watch something else.

PTI is the only good thing on ESPN, unless the Rockets are playing.

I also enjoy Cold Pizza when I can catch it. It is not bad at all. I used to enjoy "Play Makers" when it was on.

PTI is a very good show and Around the Horn has gotten better with Reaili as the host instead of Max Kellerman. Neither are Sportscenter but both of these shows should get renewed and provide better lead-ins for Sportscenter then watching NFL Films for the umpteenth time in the middle of the day.
