So, I just saw a Rockets segment on PTI (Pardon the Interruption). They talked about how T-Mac was "moping" after the Bonzi/MJ trade. Adande then goes on to proclaim that T-Mac had no right to mope or have any say on the trade because he has not had playoff success, specifically stating McGrady's inability to get past the first round so far in his career.

"He has not earned that right!" is what Adande said regarding the situation. He goes on to say that if it was Kobe or LeBron, then yes they could mope and have a say in the trades. But T-Mac, no, because he has not led his team to the Finals.

Personally, I think Adande is an idiot. Also, they are exaggerating T-Mac's reaction. "Moping" is not the word I would have used to describe it. Mac said he was disappointed, but that he was a player and it was his job to play. It wasn't like he was bashing the Rockets management or anything like that.

I think it's kinda stupid to focus on that instead of focusing on their 10 game winning streak and how it has recently come together for the Rockets.

Sorry for the rant! Just wanted to share it with you guys!

I saw this too. If T-mac was moping, (kinda like how SF3 was moping when Mobley was traded to sacto back in 2004) then yeah you'd probably see a decrease in his performance last night.

But when you drop 23/10 and 1 TO, and you're having fun out there. I don't think theres any "moping" going on. Oh and you win too btw.

Adande is an idiot. He needs to lose his espn gig and go back to Around the Horn with those other loser columnists.

He can mope his way to 23 points and 10 assists every night.

I understand he's sad to see his pal Bonzi go, but am sure he is enough of a veteran to not kill himself over it. It's not like they'll never see each other again. They just won't be showering together after every game.

He wasn't moping but to be honest (and you know I don't like Tmac) if he did mope he was entitled. He is 28 going on 40 and Les pulls a salary dump move in the midst of a 9 game win streak and a push to make the playoffs? McGrady and every other vet on the team should be pissed.

Exactly. It's implied that the real push is going to be next season at the earliest.

u see what i mean by everyone likes to trash tmac (though he brought it on himself with an 0-6 playoff record)

but him moping? he just said bonzi was a great guy and contributor and it was sad to see him go. rafer, yao, landry, and others said the SAME things.

and yet tmac gets trashed lol. how typical.

Yeah I saw it too and lost all my unearned respect for him. He sounded so vindictive too. Hell, even the Tony said he was mean

    Moping? Interesting interpretation.

We were on a roll, T-Mac respects the contributions of all his teammates, and one of them was traded away. What was his reaction supposed to be? "Good riddance"?

    Morons.

and sports illustrated. remember when we won the first championship, they hadn't printed the "hail to the champs" cover copy, instead printing a cover copy for the knicks.
