That's just a mockup. It's supposedly is going to be released at the end of the year alongside the release of Android 3.0/Gingerbread. I'm definitely interested in seeing both the phone and Android 3.0/Gingerbread. It'll be nice to see games like God of War and Call of Duty with proper controls available on a phone. PSN over 3G would be simply awesome. The PSP controls will also be great for all the free NES, SNES, Genesis, PSX, N64 emulators on the Android Market.
Sorry for bumping this without any new news or anything. I meant to post in this earlier, but forgot about it. I think one of the interesting aspects of the rumor and how this could turn out is the potential for Sony and Google to work out a platform for games for Android. Not just some random PSP phone, but potentially a "spec" for one which other manufacturers could follow. A partnership to basically define gaming for Android. Incredibly unrealistic at this point, but it would be pretty cool IMO. Would be a nice partnership between Google and Sony, which could be win-win (and probably massive wins). But that's almost like a rumor to a rumor. I'm not even sure I really believe the stuff about the phone itself. Don't really have that much confidence in Sony Ericsson or Sony to get this done. They'd screw it up somehow. And I'm not even sure the Snapdragon could handle PSP games. CPU part of it is more than enough, but as I understand it, the GPU is pretty weak. Would have to be more to that if this phone will play PSP games...unless of course, that part of the article is just wishful thinking. Could just be PS1 games, in which case...meh. Not bad, but could be so much more.
