Public Service Announcement.... It's gettin' chilly wit it.

Sorry for the caps, it's the weather service, yo.

    link
    ------
TEMPERATURES HAVE FALLEN TO NEAR FREEZING FROM BRECKENRIDGE TO
JACKSBORO TO GAINESVILLE EARLY THIS MORNING. AREAS OF RAIN WITH
EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT. THE STRONG UPPER
LOW IS STILL TO THE WEST. THE INITIAL HEAVY BANDS OF RAIN WILL
MOVE SLOWLY TO THE EAST...WITH LIGHTER PRECIPITATION DEVELOPING
OVERNIGHT. SOME FREEZING RAIN HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED ACROSS
PORTIONS OF MONTAGUE...WISE...AND JACK COUNTIES. RAIN WILL BECOME
MIXED WITH OR CHANGE TO SLEET OR LIGHT SNOW OVERNIGHT. ICE
ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE-QUARTER INCH AND 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW AND
SLEET WILL BE LIKELY THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON. ICE ACCUMULATION
WILL ESPECIALLY BE A PROBLEM ON ELEVATED AND EXPOSED SURFACES
    SUCH AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...
SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL
VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU
    MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA BLANKET...FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND
WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE YOU BECOME STRANDED.

 Sorry for all of you that have to drive in this crap! North Texas has no idea how to steer in ICE!

btw-It dropped from 76 F down to 36 F in less than 6 hours in Plano... A total drop of over 50 degrees is forecast by 6 PM today!

What time is this supposed to hit down here in Houston?

All I know is, looking up at the sky just now was like watching a movie in fast forward. The clouds in the night sky were flying past.

Amazing hardly any school districts are closed up here, but all colleges seem to be...

The weather people are almost surprised that they're not being heeded on TV. It's snowing in Ft. Worth and moving into Dallas... We've already reached our high today of 34 (32 now)... the rain is turning to sleet... and they say school is on?

This is Texas, people. I don't want some minivan hittin' my Truck!

Well, my pipes are already wrapped up from last year, but with the cost of a plumber these days, I don't take any chances when it comes to my pipes...

    Hey Preston,

Are you in Lubbock for Texas Tech?

Driving to work this morning at 6am (82nd & Quaker) was a b****. Luckilly we didn't have too many kids calling up the radio station wanting to know if their school was closed. We went out in the parking lot and made some snowballs. Too bad there wasn't enough time to try to make a snowman.

    ---------------

Lubbock can get bad with the snow and ice, but Amarillo is always 10 times worse. They can really get slammed up there.

Basically 43rd and Canton. What station do you work at?

Not here for Tech, I plan to start at South Plains next semester.

KFYO 790AM. The Clear Channel group.

We heard there were a lot of college students today that said "F- It" and decided not to go to class.
