i just got a PS3. while playing burnout, the TV says searching for signal. i had to restart to get the game back on. i also notice some flickering while watching blue ray and playing video games. do i have a bad unit? is this normal? thanks.

how come i get a lot of no signal from my TV when loading DVD? some DVD won't even load. is that how TV handles resolution change? when that happens, it looks like PS3 is dead.

for games and blu-ray, it's been mostly smooth though.

I see the 24fps option, but no 60fps option. Where's that?

****, i think my PS3 just died. it's on, no signal. popped in a disc, nothing comes up.

never mind, had to hold the power button for 5 seconds to reset it. this HDMI thing is pissing me off. not all DVD works and some DVD will screw up the resolution.

60fps is the normal default. maybe it doesn't say it.

the 24fps is a special frame rate for bluray movies. its the same frame rate as in the movies. only tvs that allow for it will accept the signal,
else you will get video issues.

if you have a plasma, you can get this signal too, you have to look it up base on your model.

its not that big of deal, most tvs have something called a 'film' mode that does frame rate conversion, but if the tv can handle the source signal without any conversion, then its better.

yuantain, what kinda of tv do you have?
does it accept 1080p signals? you might have to change the resolution.

i have a Samsung 40 inch that accept 1080p. it works fine for most part with just the games and bluray. some DVD upscales good too. but a lot DVDs and jet li DVDs don't work well at all. SRV's concert DVD made the system go black after a while. dang it. LOL

Well, since you talk my kind of language, I'll attempt to answer you:

What kind of interference? Is it DEFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE or OFFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE? Methinks you can SHIELD all you want, but you HAVE TO make at least a play on the ball. I think Bennett got called for it this past weekend.

Seriously, though, I am not sure why you would have interference... or just a bad cable overall... but I can bet you that a $2 cable is not going to be a good investment. :(

dude, its not the hdmi cable, there is clearly something wrong in your settings

i told i had a friend with some ps3 issues, and it turned out his bluray settings had to be tweaked.

so if its just your dvds not working (the region 1 dvds) then its something with the bluray settings.

if your games work fine, then its nothing wrong with the hdmi cable.

try setting your resolution for everything to 1080i and see if that works.
