Anyone else pick this up today? I played for a few hours and it's pretty great. It's no MW2 or anything but the possibilities of 256 players in one server are endless. Anyone want to get a ClutchFans squad/clan together and join games together?
Did the graphics improve from the demo? I think it's cool how game experience will earn you promotions and squad leadership. I'm much more excited for Bad Company 2, though.
Serious question. Is it worth getting if I'm playing MW2? I'm still addicted to that one, but if MAG brings anything worthwhile I may check it out. Then again, Bioshock 2 is right around the corner.
Im so happy someone finally posted about this game. It seems awesome, but i worry just because i didnt hear anything about it untill yesterday. Games like this are right up my alley so i will probably pick it up this week none the less. Any of your reviews on it would be much appreciated, thus far the online reviews have been pretty good, but most of it is demo talk.
I also want to know if this game is any good. I might also pick it up. Is it like socom? PSN: dat_boy_lue
My cousin told me about this game around Christmas time. He said he was part of the demo or whatever they had to introduce the game. He said it was great but a limited version of course. I was curious how good it is. With most online console games, the more people usually equals more lag, making the game glitchy and choppy. How does this game play out using that many people at once???
Well I'll try to give you guys a quick review of what I've experienced. Graphics are solid. It's not going to blow your mind but they get the job done. The gameplay is also very solid. Again, not going to blow you away like MW2 but definitely good enough. Everything feels stable and surprisingly there is VERY minimal lag. I was really impressed by that. The best part is obviously being able to play with 256 other players. You definitely feel like there are that many people on the map. It's chaos out there and if you don't stick with your squad, you're screwed. Which brings me to my next point, this game is only fun if you're sticking with your squad and communicating. This is definitely not the type of game where you go off on your own looking for enemies; you'll get mowed down by an enemy squad. You'll have a lot of fun with this game if you have a group of friends that you can play with or an online clan that you can play with. If you're playing with random people and you or they don't have mic's, you really don't get the full experience and it just feels like an ordinary deathmatch game. Another cool part is the MMO aspect where you level up and upgrade your character. It has a lot of depth and keeps you hooked in order to get better weapons and skills. I haven't qualified for a leadership position yet, but apparently you control squads and platoons throughout the map, set objectives and call in airstrikes and stuff. Overall, I'm really digging this game and I'm not even really a huge FPS guy. I found myself a little online clan they plays together and it's a lot of fun completing your objectives throughout the game using team work and following the orders of your squad leaders.
^^ Thanks for the review. This game has been on my radar for a while now, but I was disappointed that it doesn't include a headset. Don't other online-only Sony games like Warhawk and SOCOM include headsets at the $60 price point? Seems communication would be important in a game like this.
So how is this game? I am still playing MW2. Not sure I want to get this game. 200+ people sounds cool and probably looks cool on paper but I have a feeling its chaotic in game. I am looking forward to Dante's Inferno, GoW3, Heavy Rain, and BFBC2.
Sorry, did not see this part before I posted. I don't think I would like all that chaos. But cool concept and glad its a PS3 exclusive.
I started out in Valor but apparently S.V.E.R is much better so I switched sides. Anyone else on S.V.E.R that wants to play?
