http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=526722 http://www.pshomebrew.net/wiki/PS2_Classics_Emulator_Compatibility_List Not going to link to details on how (I didn't even look for them), but interesting news. If your older PS3 died (or is dying) and/or you want to play your PS2 games on your new PS3 Slim/Slimmer, this might be something to check out.
Promising, I might try if it doesn't jeopardize my psn somehow or get my system banned. I had a fat ps3 but when it broke I opted to get the slim instead of repairing the old
I would like to point out that you'd probably still be better off using PCSX2 or even just a regular PS2, especially if you're concerned about getting banned (guessing you might have to keep your PS3 "off-the-grid" if you go with custom firmware). I haven't tried PCSX2 in a long time. I think I tried it around the beginning of the generation. It was starting to get OK then, but still had issues. Apparently a large portion of PS2 games are fully playable now though, and of course you can throw in some visual improvements. I'll probably check it out again soon. Wonder if there's been any work (or any good work I should say) at getting a PS3 emulator working. Guess Blu-ray and Cell won't make that super-easy (plus the need to go online now that I think about it ), but that would take the sting off of no PS3 BC with PS4. I've always preferred PC emulation, but it is usually a pain to get running and even then not all games are playable.
