At that time, we probably would want to protect Cato because his salary should be close to being done by then. We'll probably sign Hawk to a long-term contract or he won't be playing by that time, so I'd switch Cato and Hawk on your list. Plus, teams are always looking for centers. Or even better, switch Cato and Tito. Not a Troll fan here.

Actually they sold out every game until their owner got in a clash with the fans. We're talking about the Carolinas here, prime time basketball country. With a new owner, they'll demolish the Rocks attendance marks.
I really wish they wouldn't expand. The talent in the NBA is already spread way too thin. Look at the Rockets, after a few players the team is mostly crap. Look at the Lakers- same thing. The game is getting uglier to watch as more medicore players are being put on the court.

Carolina's are probably one of the most heavily populated for NBA and college ball. I recently moved up here and I love how everyone loves ball. Living in houston and baton rouge nobody gave a flip about basketball.

Charlotte will not be joining the league next year, I think. Therefore, Rice would not be in this equation, since he will come off the Rockets' books after next year. Likewise, KT, T-Mo, Collier, Hawk, and Tito will all become free agents before any expansion draft. Therefore, based on the players who will be with us beyond next year, I would protect: Francis Yao Mobley Griffin Cato Boki (if he looks like he's developing well) ??? (Hawkins, if he's still around and playing great D) ??? (T-Mo, if he's still around and developing well) The only players I would leave unprotected would be: Mo T (salary-based only) Moochie (salary)
