i no it is early and all but if we were to get carter.. not saying we are but if we were to get him what would the pros and cons be and what would we lose in artest Vince pros: athleticism new revival of tmac??? maybe better fitting player better shooter dunking Cons: more shots another scorer not passer bigger contract another number 15 lol jokes Artest pros: strong 3 point shooter intimidation defence! Cons: dumbass shots ball stopper chemistry issues (laughing at mac)
Artest defense? haha thats a joke. We need a scorer unlike what you say, we lack scorers on this team. The ball either goes to Yao or someone to chuck up a brick 3. T-Mac isn't himself, hes obsolete.
We thought this about Artest, we thought it about Adelman, we even thought it about Swift (dont ask me how the hell...) Nobody can change T-Mac but himself.
pros of keeping Artest: we will still have landry, scola, battier, or whoever else will be involved if we trade for Carter.
Vince is also better one-on-one offensively. And with that athleticism I doubt he'll be any worse defensively than Artest has been lately.
Why not get VC: 1. He has more years on his contract 2. He is injury prone 3. He is same as TMac 4. He will quit when he wants to.
Vince is a decent and willing passer. I don't know where you got that from that he wasn't a good passer. He's a way better passer than Ron.
1) Carter isn't injury prone. 2) Carter has never quit on his ****ty Nets team. 3) He's MUCH better than McGrady at this point. 4) He is the least selfish superstar in the NBA - if you actually watched him it's blatant (this one isn't directed at you rockets). 5) He's clutch. One of the best 4th quarter players in the league. 6) He's one of the best playmakers at his position - extremely underrated in this regards. 7) His defense since coming to NJ has been underrated. This guy is hated on for absolutely no reason. He's been the consummate professional since he left Toronto.
I will say we need a better PG if we're essentially going to swap McGrady for Vince. Vince is a magician with the ball and a good passer (5 APG) but he's still not the playmaker T-Mac is which will expose Rafer's deficiencies in that regard even more. If it's an Artest package for Vince I suppose that's less of a problem.
I think both of the two would make good plays together... carter might balance Tracy out some, get him back into things... also the relationship between them may be good. Carter seems more mature and like he could get Tmac to calm down and wise up.

Not to mention his team won by 44 points.
