Everytime Nellie adjusted against the Rockets (2-3 zone, subbing Harrington in), RA made the proper counter adjustment. His only mistake was letting Novak in there for too long, but he subbed him out just before it was too late.

He sure did, I was in chat screaming for him to get Scola in there when they went zone to run the high post at the FT line...it just took him 3 minutes longer than it took DD.

    ;)

Yup. Great adjustments, great job at putting in Novak and pulling him at the right time. Glad we pulled out the W and Yao decided to play like a freaking BEAST.

    Loved it

    Uh.

Ok. I'd give Adelman props, but I think there's too much going around. ;)

Scola should have been out there much more tonight. He was a big reason why we got such a huge lead early on. I like Novak but with him out there the offense became a one trick pony in jacking up 3s and trading baskets. Scola actually plays better D, can create his own shot, and knows how to set up teammates. He even feeds Yao the ball well with lobs and entry passes. Also I really liked not seeing Chuck out there tonight. Landry is proving to be able to do Chuck's role and being a better finisher since he actually dunks with authority and shows he has a midrange game that he is smart enough to not rely on. He is basically a hustle player that is more talented than Chuck.

I was advocating for him to put Scola too in the game thread. Man I don't know what Adelman was thinking.

The mistake was running 2 plays for Novak and watching him go 2-2, then completely ignoring him. I'll say this again - run plays for Novak or he's useless. It's unbelievable how a guy can shoot like Novak and be ignored on the offensive end.

    Agree.
RA shows a lot of flexibility and keeps on making correct adjustments.

Problem with Adelman's team is that we can beat any of the top teams (except Dallas this season) on any given day, but we can also lose to any of the worst teams on any given day.

Exactly! I think RA won't put Novak that long next time against GSW.

Poor Chuck - Not only does he lose his starting job, but he goes straight to the end of the line!!! Now he's got Scola, Landry, &/or Novak in front of him...

Not that I miss him or anything... but he sure did get sent down.

That's what happens when you can't shoot or make layups.

He will be back when Scola/Landry struggle on defense and get in foul trouble. It's very important to see Scola/Landry improving on defense and having Hayes coming off the bench.

I think Adelman's contract is 3 years and the 3rd year is a team option. Ask denniscd about it.
