He can score, but can he learn to play smart and take care of the basketball? I think so.

notice how kyle lowry had a much better + number in the box score, brooks doesn't distribute, it's not a good idea ot have him take more shots than yao and artest

I give huge props to AB, Mr. Aaron Brooks. He had a great game, as Yao said in the Houston Chronicle.

I hope this wasn't his best game, this was just a great game.

Yup awesome game from Aaron Brooks. But God I hope he doesn't get to his head. Let's not forget he is the freakin' PG and had more turnovers than assists.

He wasn't forcing bad shots. nash could not guard him. and brooks would have had more assists had the team made a few shots early. same goes for artest, who was missing shots early.

If there ever was a way to score 30 points but still play shaky, AB played that way tonight. 4 turnovers and only 3 assists. His counterpart explodes for 32 pts, 13 ast, and only 1 TO.

He's young and he has time to learn, he'll be better than Rafer in the long run, thats all i can add.

Mad props from Nash: "He killed us and made a couple big shots at the end of the game," Nash said. "He’s really turning into a terrific guard and the Rockets are going to have a guy for a long time who can handle this position."

AB is definitely an upgrade over Rafer. Has Rafer ever scored 30 with us? Probably, I just don't remember it, and it probably took more than 20 shots to happen. The main positive about Brooks is that he's cold-blooded; he relishes the crunch time and frankly that's a fresh feeling to have after 4 1/2 years of T-Mac Rafer and Yao.

But I still have my doubts. Nash tore us up. And look at the +/- stats tonight:

Brooks - +3 over 38 minutes, mostly with the starters
Lowry - +12 over 14 minutes, mostly with his reserve partners Wafer (-1) and Landry (+3)

Lowry's steady hand, great defense, and hard-nosed willingness to draw the foul leads me to believe he has the greater ceiling, mostly because of the defensive part. Plus he matches up soooo much better with Deron Williams. That being said though I think Brooks is a better matchup against Chris Paul.

    Conclusion: THANK YOU MOREY!

Our 22nd win in a row versus the Lakers last year? Can't forget that.

Great game AB. I hope he can learn something form Nash. Nash was nobody in early career sharing rubbish mins from bench. It took years for him to fight for MVP.
AB go fight. Wish you the best.

Agree! We need team ball not AB ball.

Great game by Aaron, lets just focus on the numerous positives from this game.

He got burned by Steve ol' Nash but he just a good shooting night that stands up to any PG in this league.

However when his shot doesn't fall he is pretty much useless.

Great player, but would be better off playing off the bench.

ab had a great scoring game.

but he needs to learn how control the tempo and distribute. after all, that's job #1 for a pg. hope he will learn.

right now, lowry is a better pg and should start. but apparently adelman has been thinking otherwise.

nash's shots were contested fallaway 15 footers, which I know he is good at, but he made all of them. he caught fire and it wouldn't have mattered who guarded him tonight.

His counterpart is a 2 time NBA MVP playing in a very very very uptempo style (can anyone say stats bolstering?)
Exactly what comparisons are we trying to make, that Nash outplayed him? We are holding him to Nash's standards? Come on.

The number one job for a PG is too help his team win the game. Brooks made some mistakes, but when the game was on the line he made plays. For a 23 year old, you have to be happy with that.
