With all the distraction with Prop 8, Californians won a real victory for democracy. Without the Governator beating his chest about it, I would have never known. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/09/12/EDV812RJMK.DTL With all due respect to homosexuals and homophobes out there, this is many, many times more important.
This is great news. The state Congress has become fairly comfortable and entrenched and it could be one of Ahnuld's few bright spots in an otherwise contentious and mediocre governorship that promised change.
Interesting and I agree that in the long run this is probably more important than Prop 8 but, pardon the pun, redistricting isn't as sexy as gay marriage. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if this translates to other states.
