Absolutely they can! I had a friend that played in a popular punk band and while they were in on tour a girl tried to have sex with him and when he said no she went and convinced their drummer to do it behind his back then went to the police and said he raped her. After being kicked out of his band and having to go through a lot of court halfway across the country from his home she finally confessed the whole thing. said she did it bc she loved him....girls can be *****ed up and in this one extreme case it ruined someones life for a long time.

 

This also flies in the face of real rape victims and every time someone doubts their validity.

 

Knew a girl who made up a story of getting raped purely for attention. The person who raped her changed from an ex boyfriend to a random stranger while she was drunk (girl doesn't drink) depending on who she told the story to. Anyways, she completely f'd over that ex. Feel bad for the kid. Although everyone was kind of "umm wtf?" about it because the kid was Mormon and they never even touched, much less had sex in any way. When the truth came out, it all made sense.

 

When I was 12 or so, a neighbor had a daughter several years my junior named Melissa. Her mother one day accused me of molesting her daughter (which I didn't do, if you're wondering). Several days later, she said she got the perp wrong and it was actually my friend and neighbor, who was 10. Everyone knew the woman was crazy and nothing really came of the whole thing. But, we did start calling Melissa 'Molesta' after that.

old roommate in college had an ex-gf spread all sort of stuff about him saying how he got mad and hit her once and that he stole money from her all the time. she had a bruise from lacrosse that she used as evidence of his physical abuse.

it totally messed up my roommate and no one in our floor talked to him and some of the other guys on the floor defaced his car because of it cost him roughly 300 bucks to fix.

at the end when the truth came out all she said was "i'm sorry i was mad what did you expect?"
