Kos declares that this poll shows that bipartisanship, or compromise with the Republicans, are not an option: "Ultimately, these results explain why it is impossible for elected Republicans to work with Democrats to improve our country. Their base are conspiracy mongers who don't believe Obama was born in the United States, that he is the second coming of Lenin, and that he is racist against white people. They already want to impeach him despite the glaringly obvious lack of high crimes or misdemeanors. If any Republican strays and decides to do the right thing and try to work in a bipartisan fashion, they suffer primaries and attacks." We posted yesterday on an early sneak peek at the poll, showing that 63% of Republicans consider Obama to be a socialist, 39% want him impeached, and only 42% say he was born in the United States. The major pattern that emerges is that even where only minorities or weak pluralities of Republicans hold to some extreme positions, there also exists a large bloc of undecideds. • "Should Barack Obama be impeached, or not?" Yes 39%, No 32%, Not Sure 29%. • "Do you believe Barack Obama was born in the United States, or not?" Yes 42%, No 36%, Not Sure 22%. • "Do you believe Barack Obama wants the terrorists to win?" Yes 24%, No 43%, Not Sure 33%. • "Do you believe ACORN stole the 2008 election?" Yes 21%, No 24%, Not Sure 55%. • "Do you believe Barack Obama is a racist who hates White people?" Yes 31%, No 36%, Not Sure 33%. • "Do you believe your state should secede from the United States?" The answer here is Yes 23%, No 58%, Not Sure 19%. On this basis, Kos declares: "42 percent of Republicans aren't really patriotic." Among Republicans in the South, secessionism is stronger at Yes 33%, No 52% Not Sure 15%. There were some areas of reasonableness, though. In particular, the role of women as equals in family and professional life is now a settled matter in American culture. "Are marriages equal partnerships, or are men the leaders of their households?" Men 13%, Equal 76%, Not Sure 11%; and "Should women work outside the home?" Yes 86%, No 4%, Not Sure 10%.
For Gods sake, you ridiculous troll, could you at least include a SINGLE word of thought?!? This board is not your personal blog or Facebook site to post little <s>clips</s>articles you find amusing. This is the DEBATE AND DISCUSSION section. You neither debate, nor discuss. Do us all a favor and go spend more time with your family and less time here.
He didn't "declare" it; he polled it. The Republicans that were polled presented proof positive of their stupidity. Not that they're "extremely right," but that they are really ****ing stupid.
considering another poll showed that only 20% of adults identify themselves as republicans, me thinks this poll is skewed....or... ALL POLLS ARE ****ING STUPID.
It's only 13 minutes past midnight and I think we've already hit our quota for CAPITAL LETTERS for the day.
Out of all the question in that poll, I think the most disturbing is that 24% of people polled believe that the President of the United States of America "wants the terrorists to win." I'm not going to get into the legitimacy of this poll. I don't like to cite DailyKos (although Research2K seemed quite legitimate in their election polling) as a source just like I would hope clear thinking conservatives wouldn't cite Beck or Limbaugh as sources. But whoever answered yes to that question should be considered a ****ing idiot by the rest of society.
Both parties are made up of a lot of dumbasses I couldn't care less about what you have to say, you are the left wing version of TJ You are just making yourself look like an idiot and a douchebag, but maybe that is what you are going for.
Have you ever called basso a ridiculous troll and used huge font sizes to express disgust at him? If not, just zip it please or at least attempt to be consistent. basso has created probably 100 threads in a similar fashion the last 6 months. Where was your outrage? Give me a break! Stop pretending you want legit debate. It's the material here you don't like. Would you be this ticked off if someone had posted something similar about Dems? Very doubtful.
Ah, I see. I don't hang out here much anymore, which is a good thing. It ain't worth it. Still, when it comes to starting utterly stupid threads without any thoughtful input, basso beats all the "liberals" here combined by 100 to 1.
I'm starting to believe that we have a better chance making a deal with the terroist then we do with republicans. That's just sad! I3's really sad when they all vote in unison to block every piece of legislation available that Obama proposes to try to handi cap his presidency. It's time to stop reaching out to these fools and start changing the country ourselves. There is nothing wrong with disagreement, but it's become quite apparent what the GOP play book is...Actually I knew this day one, but I was willing to give them a chance because I believed there where possibly a few Republicans who would go lock step with party line voting. I blame a minority of democrats for being weak, but overall the frustration i'm feeling is not soley on them, it's the obstrutionist republicans.
You do know that for quite awhile there, the Democrats had a supermajority and could get anything passed without a single Republican vote?
What's even crazier is that even if republicans propose legislation and Obama agrees with it, they change their minds and decide to vote against it. We saw this vividly when Obama mentioned tax cuts for 95% of Americans during the SOTU and republicans sat on their hands. Who knew republicans weren't for tax cuts?
