After watching King of the Hill i would just like to clarify the pronounciation of the word Emu

according to King of the Hill it is pronounced Emoooo

    the correct pronounciation is

    E ..... Mu

as in the MU sound you make when you say the the word Music

or really it is just U and not OOO

it has nothing to do with the sound a cow makes

btw the sensational on a BBQ

I want to know the proper pronunciation of Xavier.

Al Jaffe says you don't pronounce the "x"

But for me, it is instinctive. I always say "x-zavier"

    Good question.

I have heard 3 ways to pronounce it:

    X-Avier
    X-Zavier
    Zavier

    Which way is right?

And, if the President of the United States pronounces it the other way, does that automatically make it the new correct way? :D

Merriam-Webster's Dictionary has the following pronounciations:

    Pronunciation: 'zAv-y&r, 'zA-vE-&r, ig-'zA-

I guess the question is whether that 3rd one is correct. I'm not sure. I noticed that pronouciation was missing from the American Heritage Dictionary.
