What I am wanting is a program that can cut part of a song out and make that part of the song a seperate file. Example: Let's say I like a chorus of a certain song and want to make that chorus, that is about 20 seconds long, into a seperate file. When that file is played, the 20 seconds of chorus are played. Is there a free or reasonably priced program out there that can do that? I am wanting to make some ringtones of songs and artists that are basically hard to find but I have them on my computer and have can transfer them to my phone.
i forgot exactly how, but my roommate was showing me how to do that using Windows Sound Recorder (as basic as it gets) with a wav file (easily converted to from an mp3) for ringtones..
Sony Soundforge. Or... there's an open - source version called Audacity. You display the wave form of the file and cut and paste that form according to the peaks and valleys of the music, with real-time playback.
