I use both Firefox and Chrome and have the same problem with both. I have to close them (about once a day) to play youtube and other videos on my PC. What happens is I get no audio and about 2 seconds of video and it will stop playing. Period. Closing and re-opening my browser takes care of the problem but I don't like having to do that so often.

Anybody else have this problem or can tell me what's going on? Thanks in advance.

Same thing happens to me. I haven't figured out what it is. It also never happens to me in IE, only in FF and Chrome.

It has something to do with the flash player 9. You can try to download flashplayer 10 beta and it should fix the problem.

Me too. I use FF and it always froze up when I had more than 2 or 3 tabs open. It's a pain.

    I'll try randerson's fix. Thanks.

Did not work for me with Chrome, which is what I now use most of the time at home.

Do you have an anti-spyware program? Like Spybot Search & Destroy?

I have not had any problem since upgrading to the latest FF.

Also, if using FF, try downloading the adblock plus, track me not and download helper... I have never had issues since having all of those, but that was after latest FF.

BTW- if it happens to be on a myspace page that this occurs, I'd heard 6 or more videos per page and they won't work... so I tried it with my page (I had about 7 videos of Rockets, Texans, and music) at it was that way. I reduced the number of videos on my page to 4 or 5 and now they work.

I have had the same problem with Firefox for about the past 6 months. If I open more than one video at a time, it freezes up and I can't watch past 2 seconds.

I did some research and it the problem is with Java and Firefox interference. Alot of folks have this identical problem, and Firefox really hasn't addressed this.

I've been so fed up with Firefox, I've actually been looking to switch browsers. I listen to alot of flash music from artists pages on Myspace and it also freezes up. Its super annoying.

The problem is your adobe flash version. Upgrading it to the newest version could help, but it was the newest version that caused the same exact problem you are having. So I had to download an older version and it fixed it.

Try upgrading to the newest version since this happened to me a couple months ago since and things could be fixed now.

    Newest
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

    Older
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14266&sliceId=2

For the older versions just download the version 9 pack and pick one of the versions to install. Make sure you unistall adobe flash first.

Just to let you know, I click the "newest" link and downloaded it. Now Youtube videos don't even show up in my browser.

Try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it again. If that doesn't work then, i dunno.

I reached the same result looking for an answer.

I have a "View this page in IE" addon for that situation.
