Prisoner uses toothpaste to escape from jail An inmate is thought to have used dental floss and toothpaste to "saw" his way out of a Washington state jail. The abrasive toothpaste is believed to have weakened wire mesh around Okanogan County Jail exercise yard. Scott Brimble would have been able to prise the mesh apart and escape. An arrest warrant has been issued by the Okanogan County Superior Court for the 30-year-old from Wenatchee. County Sheriff Mike Murray said prison guards noticed he was missing from the outdoor recreation area where he had been taken after complaining of claustrophobia. Brimble had been sentenced to 64 days in jail for failure to register as a sex offender. He also faced additional time for probation violations.
