Priscilla Davis died Monday from breast cancer.

Davis was the former wife of Fort Worth oilman T. Cullen Davis. She was thrust into the public spotlight when she was wounded in a 1976 attack at her TCU-area home. Her young daughter was killed (had been murdered in the basement of the house before Davis returned home), as was her then-boyfriend Stan Farr. Bubba Gravel was also wounded in the attack.

Cullen Davis was accused of the crime and brought to trial. An Amarillo jury acquitted him of the charges. Cullen Davis would later be brought to trial for allegedly conspiring to kill the judge in his divorce case. That trial took place in Houston, and Cullen Davis was again acquitted despite seemingly overwhelming evidence.

Priscilla was played by Heather Locklear in the ABC miniseries 'Texas Justice'.

This is probably more interesting to people from Tarrant County than anyone else. I have been fascinated by the Cullen Davis case for some time. And when I lived in Fort Worth, I drove by the house where the murders/assaults took place nearly every day.

I got to meet the AP reporter who covered the story and had later written a book about the case. He was a terribly interesting fellow. Beyond his ties to the Cullen Davis case, he also covered things such as Lee Harvey Oswald's funeral (he and other members of the press ended up having to be pallbearers because no one else could be found to do it) and the Koslow murders and subsequent trials. At any rate, I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else thought it was interesting (probably not, though).
