Alright, to be clear, I've read all the posts on this and other websites discussing how inhumane declawing is and what it can do to cats to mess their heads up. I'm not interested in reading that stuff again. I'm interested in hearing the monetary cost of anyone on this BBS that might have already had their cat declawed. It's an option I'm looking into, but haven't decided yet. I would appreciate everyone not going out of their way to derail the thread.
My girlfriend got her cats done right after we met and I think it was about $100 a pop. A declawed cat is the only way to go.
Your cat may kick her cats ass but it aint kicking my cats ass. He takes on dogs. Big dogs. And wins. b****.
The real Mr.Meowgi destroys. He even growls like a large dog, and has no fear. His claws are sharper than the sharpest of talons. He can also jump to the top of a 6 foot fence in a single bound. Your little Snowball doesn't want a piece of him.
This boards ability to derail threads in new and strange directions constantly amazes and angers me (but mostly amazes).
If I wouldn't have to hear it from my wife and stepson afterwards, and from the cats, I suppose, I would take great pleasure in ripping their claws out. But as it is, I'd be willing to pay the $100 per cat for the peace and quiet. That is assuming that is a good price.
My GF got her Cat's front claws done for like $60 per cat. Then she put these little claw guards on their back claws to keep from scratching up the leather furniture. Worked pretty well, but the cats were not happy about it.
I've heard painful screams from my friends trimming their cat's nails. A self-performed declaw would probably end up pretty bloody and scratch-laden. Plus, there's no guarantee that they won't grow back in some form...
