I'm just going to start a new thread because I've made up a post that explains exactly what I have. Ok folks, I have 2 PS3s in time for Christmas. These are both the previous edition 80gb models. The 80gb PS3s that are currently available in stores are NOT the same as the previous model 80gb PS3s. So why would you pay for a used older 80gb model when you can get a new one? Several reasons. 1.) The previous model should play all your PS2 games with a few exceptions (around 85% backwards compatibility) Sony no longer includes PS2 compatibility with the PS3s currently in production. 2.) The previous model includes memory card ports (SD, Pro/ Pro Duo, Compact flash, etc) 3.) The previous model supports Super Audio CD. (SACD is basically one of the most badass sound inputs, great for home theater setup with your blu-ray disc) 4.) The previous model has 4 USB ports. The newer 80gb and 160gb models will only have 2 USB ports, which sucks when you want to play games like Rock Band which require up to 5 controllers to be plugged in at the same time. 5.) I guarantee you will see these being sold on ebay for large amounts of money leading up before Christmas. The current stripped down 80gb model is now being sold in stores (I just checked walmart.com) with no games for a retail price of $399 (Which means you'll be paying about $500 bucks for the machine and a game plus tax.) I am giving you a chance to buy a reliable machine at a reasonable price before the holiday gouging begins. Also note that every PS3 no matter what model has full 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity (except the no-longer available 20gb model) and is backwards compatible with any PSone title. Now that you've been convinced, here are some important things to remember before you make an offer... 1.) These are used Items. I buy these from an online auction which tests them before selling them. This is the only way you will be able to purchase a superior model PS3 unless you can find somebody who bought one when they were available and never opened it. 2.) Condition will vary for each unit. I will do my best to describe condition and provide pictures should you request them. 3.) These PS3s are sold as-is. I cannot guarantee the performance of any of these PS3s, because I am buying them second hand myself. As a former employee with firsthand knowledge, I can tell you that some of them will be in great shape and probably were hardly ever played. Some of them might have been played heavily for 6-12 months before they were resold. should you buy them from me, it will work mostly like an ebay auction. I will even give you a full month in case anything goes wrong, but after that you will be responsible. 4.) I guarantee the unit you receive will be exactly as I have described it to you. I test each unit myself to make sure it works properly before I sell it. 5.) I have sold these very same PS3s to members of this board including DaDakota, Drexlerfan22, bmthint, emoreland, and Master Baiter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now that we've got all that taken care of, here is what I have. 1.) A previous model 80gb PS3, with Sixaxis controller and all basic cables. Unit is in good condition with some signs of wear. Asking price : $375. 2.) A previous model 80gb PS3 Bundle Limited Motorstorm Edition, with Sixaxis controller, and all original packaging and accessories included. This is a bundle that includes the PS3 game Motorstorm. Unit is in good condition with some signs of wear. Asking Price: $450. My email is goldbricker@gmail.com, which is the same as emailing me with the board. Note - A couple people who posted here the last time I had PS3s will have first priority should they still have interest.
I'm intrigued but i'd like to know it works. Can't one buy a used system at Gamestop around the same price and be able to return it if it doesn't work?
I'm not familiar with the process of Gamestop, but thats assuming they will have plenty of them in stock... either way you are buying a preowned system and I specified I am willing to give whoever buys one a full month after purchase to return it if anything should go wrong.
My bad, i thought you we're giving no warranty at all and if it doesn't work when i open it, i'm screwed.
The one I got from him was in EXCELLENT condition....in better condition than he described so I can vouch for him as well. You wont be disappointed.
I will also vouch for moes. You definitely want one of the old 80gigs if u play any ps2 games at all. Mine was awsome condition, no problems whatsoever.
Sold one to swolyd today. Got one left y'all. and its a nice one. If i had to guess I'd say it was never even played before.
I have one left, but it has been having trouble reading some Blu-ray movies. Sony will fix it for $150 bucks, or I can just sell it as is. Just kind of sitting on it right now not sure what to do.
