Of all the players you've watched, who had the best looking shot? Not, mind you, the most consistent, or even most effective shot, but just the shooting form that made you say, "that's how everyone should shoot the ball"?

Here are some of the guys that I came up up with. Who are your favorites (or least favorites)?

    Jerry West

When international coaches were teaching their players the game, they taught them to shoot using the Logo's form.

    Allan Houston

He's not nearly as good as any of the other players on this list, but IMO he has the most technically sound shot in the league today.

    Larry Bird

I hated Bird, and I hated his shooting form. He almost looked lopsided when he shot the ball - I can't explain it. Just didn't look right to me.

    Michael Jordan

Jordan didn't really have the smoothest shot, it was a little bit jerky, which I think may have contributed to his inconsistency from long range.

    Reggie Miller

The man breaks two cardinal rules of shooting - he follows the flight of the ball with his eyes, and he sticks his elbows out. And he's the NBA's all time leading 3-pt shooter. Go figure.

    John Stockton

    "Stockton, for three!"

If you're talking purely form, I gotta give it to Allan Houston. The other guys may or may not be better shooters, but Allan's shot is pure "textbook" imo.

Also, Stockton may have been a decent shooter, but his form was straight fugly. He slung-shot from the side. No coach would teach a player to do that.

Bird, Reggie, and Stockton don't have particularly good form. Reggie's is actually quite horrible. Allan Houston has a nice looking stroke. Mike Bibby, Kobe Bryant, and Ray Allen also have good form.

Ray Allen? Michael Redd has a cool looking shot too.

Ray has kind of a weird spin on his shot; it's almost a knuckleball. Really effective though.

I really like Redd's shot. Very quick release. The amazing thing is, he was a bad shooter when he came into the NBA.

Interesting fact: Bird's 3pt shooting his first five years in the league was a combined 89 - 419. That's a clip of 21.2%

Glen Rice definitely has one of the best forms. Wesley Person as well. The guys at TNT praise his form everytime he particpates in the 3 pt shootout.Jim Jackson has pretty nice form imo.

Jeff Horneck has the best shooting form, and Mullin has best shooting form for left hand shooter.

okay...really, did you have to call it "prettiest"? couldn't you of used a word like "nicest" or something instead - i mean, having a "who's the hottest guy in the west" thread is bad enough, this is the straw that broke the camels back.
