Well, looking at the stats tells quite an interesting tale, which could be quite deceiving.

First off, you'd think we have a lot of good threads about Walt since he is averaging 20 ppg, but then when you see he is shooting 37.5%, you see why it's nothing to brag about.

Next we see Francis with some incredible numbers, which are with him playing 32 minutes a game. I wonder if they will go up in the regular season and he plays 40 minutes a game?

Cato looks extremely good stat wise, though I swear he dropped and fumbled more passes for him to only have 3 turnovers.

Damon Jones looks like a wonderful backup guard until we see a downright ugly 34.6% shooting percentage, and a 26.3% 3 pt (from a 3 point specialist). Also, the 0.3 assist per game is pretty discouraging. (maybe he is just trying to work on his shot :) )

Moochie's stats are encouraging, minus the shooting percentages. 7 assists per game when playing with a bunch of scrubs? Moochie does a great job of getting the ball to someone when they are in a good position to score

Kenny T is putting up good hustle numbers, yet again a horrid shooting percentage.

Oscar Torres is a huge bright spot in several ways. 9 ppg is great for a back up, especially when you are shooting 48% from the field. What I really liked about his numbers was just one turnover compared to a block and three steals.

Collier only has one game for use to compare, so I'll pass and say it's what I expect from him.

Morris showed potential in the Piston game, and hopefully he'll continue to put up numbers somewhat close to that given the minutes. I like his free throw percentage. :)

Nwanko seems to do a great job of only taking smart shots, but that could also hurt him, as his 8 points in three games doesn't seem too impressive. Two blocks and a steal with only one turnover is nice to see..

Kelly, Brown and Langhi only have single digit minutes, so it's tough to even try to infer stuff from their current stats.

All in all I hope the shooting percentage will go up when our big guns are back. I don't really know why I'm posting all this analysis, since three pre season games don't really mean much of anything, but hey I'm bored.

    great numbers

Cato's lack of offensive rebounding as a proportion of total rebounds is a little worrying.

Conversely Kenny's proportion of offensive to defensive rebounds is sensational

Moochies great numbers (a big call from me as an anti-give-him that much money) and if he keeps that up and Cat steps in and explodes as i think then we are going to see a lot of Mooch, Steve and Mobes on the court together and probably a fair bit of Rice at the 4 IF he ever gets on the court.

Thanks for the stats. I just noticed Jason Collier played 11 total minutes and had nine points. He looked rusty on defense, but I hope he can keep up that kind of offensive output!

Its kind of funny, but I am glad Cato is rebounding well defensively. Offensive rebounds are nice, but unimportant if the shot is made.

KT's lack of defensive rebounds worries me because Cato needs help when he goes for a shotblock. KT clears the defensive glass only once every 8 minutes.

If the rockets control the defensive glass, they will win.

Collier: 9 points and 3 rebounds in 11 minutes!

Watch out Cato. Wait til Marc Jackson gets here:D

These stats and we don't even have Cat and Rice in the mix yet.

If Walt can get that many points Rice is going to explode, he won't be shooting 37 percent on those wide open looks Walt's been getting...

Thanks for doing the research, B. There is going to be a fight for SF backup minutes. Who would you go with, Williams or Morris?

Williams should back up at 2 and let Morris backup at 3. Torres should have spot duty at both places too.

Going from Mobes to Williams would definitely be a different look at that position, but I think that he would get killed by any 2 with even a little speed.

Besides, Rudy puts guys in where he thinks he can create matchup problems without getting killed. To me, that says that a lot of our guys, being so versatile, will see time at 2, if not 3, different positions.

Thanks also B, ...interesting stats even though it may be too early to assess players on the bubble, i.e. Torres, Jones, Langhi.
