Not stats define everything or that preseason stats mean a whole lot (ask Kelvin Cato), but I thought it might be interesting to compare the numbers put out by Shane Battier and the "alternatives" they could have gotten with the 8th overall pick (either picked straight up or in a trade that's at least been rumored to happen). Luther Head is in there because they were supposedly trying to trade up to 6th or 5th for Roy with 8th and Head. He seems more efficient than Teen Wolf Spanoulis?
You know what's crazy, you could offer Novak to Memphis for Gay and they would actually consider it. You could use Novak as bait for a lot of teams out there if you wanted to. That is not to say that we should do anything about it, just that he has a lot of value.
I haven't spent much time on the board recently but I have to give you props for the Teen Wolf reference. He doesn't have Teen Wolf's ability to play above the rim, and Teen Wolf never passed the ball, but he definately has a lot in common with the Wolf.
no they wouldn't. let's not get carried away here. while i am as pleased as a pig in slop over novak's shooting abilities, there is no way memphis would even consider giving up jerry west's "greatest draft coup" before a single regular season game has been played. everyone knows that rudy gay is a project player. he's a project player with extraordinary upside compared to a deadeye shooter (novak). considering the fact that memphis needs to develop another superstar to pair with pau, they would break a rib laughing into phone if we ever called with that...
Mark My Words!!! Novakaine will win the 3pt. shooting contest at this year's allstar game. (if given the chance) I know you can vote for him once he's on the ballot, but how do we get him on the ballot to start with?
Lets look at two more rooks: 06-07 DAL 7 1 25.7 .394 .368 .619 0.1 1.6 1.7 0.9 0.3 0.0 2.29 2.90 10.3 06-07 LAL 8 0 18.1 .490 .375 .667 0.4 1.4 1.8 2.5 1.8 0.0 1.75 2.40 8.3 These are for Maurice Ager and Jordan Farmar, either two I would have taken before Lowry with Memphis peak. It isn't are fault Memphis were idiots with the Lowry pick with Farmar available, I saw them both play in college and Lowry didn't seem in Farmar's league. So yeah I still think we should have got that pick, and there were usefull players.
